Ameen Alizada
Ameen’s passion for sports was evident early on in his childhood, throughout which he dedicated most of his free time playing soccer. Since then, he has come to appreciate the profound effects and benefits of youth participation in sports through his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Kinesiology. Ameen’s love of sports only grew during his University career through his participation in Track/Field and AMSL Soccer with the Dinos. These experiences not only honed his athletic abilities but have continued to enrich his life. Inspired by the profound impact of sports, Ameen founded the Cleats 4 Kids Foundation, aspiring to provide similar opportunities to youth everywhere.
Akwasi (also known as Junior) got into the wonderful world of athletics by joining competitive soccer at the age of 12. From there, he used his competence in the sport and transferred that into a scholarship in Business Administration at Thompson Rivers University. On the way to collegiate soccer, his journey took him through playing on the Alberta Provincial team and being a member of the Vancouver Whitecaps Professional Academy. Akwasi was also able to capture a National title as well as claim several individual awards during his time at Thompson Rivers University. He was then selected as a First-round Draft pick to Canadian Premier League side Atletico Ottawa where he secured a Developmental Contract for the 2023 season. Akwasi aims to use these experiences to help him excel in the professional game, as well as set the framework to positively impact the lives of underprivileged youth. Akwasi founded the Cleats 4 Kids Foundation intending to break financial and situational barriers through sport.
